3301 My family came to the USA from Turzovka, Slovakia in 1912 aboard the ship "Kronprinze Wilhelm." My great-grandfather, George Kudlac, died in 1915 in Jamestown, New York. Efforts to find the name of his parents or any brothers and sisters has
been difficult to obtain because they all spoke Slovak, and anyone with that information has passed away. If there is anyone in your family interested in researching the Kudlac name, please pass along this Email, as I am hoping to combine my
research efforts with as many Kudlac family members as possible. Sincerely, Michael P Kudlac (mpk@nb.net) 7/14/99
    Kudlac, Alex (I16602)

3302 My father, Rex Lewis, remembers Lizzie from when she was his Sunday School teacher. He is 85 and still has the little New Testament that she gave him. She must have made a big impression on him since he has been agnostic for at least the last 40 years. - Rebecca Lewis PUCKETT, Rebecca Elizabeth (Lizzie) (I103)

3303 My GGGrandmother was Hannah Homan daughter of Roseanna and Eber Homan of Fayette Co, Luzerne Twp, Pa. Roseanna died and Eber moved on the Prebble Co, Ohio. Hannah married my GGGRandfather Andrew Cox, Rosana (I16343)

3304 My Great-grandfather John A.Thompson married (1850) a Margaret Opdyke before he married my Great-grandmother. Among some old family papers I came across a letter written to Margaret Opdyke in 1879. The writer of this letter listed
information from a family bible - basically the births, marriages and deaths of the children of Anthony Opdyke and Anna Lindaberry. (I can only assume that this letter was of NY, NJ or CT origin.) The following information may be of interest
    to you:
    Opdyke, Anthony (I15570)

3305 my handwritten records indicate john carpenter and his seven children were all born in new york...census information confirms this. Carpenter, John (I17106)

3306 My information does not state whether his children were from his first or second wife. Young, Adam (I13292)

3307 My information on this family comes only from internet sources. No primary documentation. If anyone can point me in the direction of the source information, please let me know. - Rebecca Lewis RYLewis@(remove brackets to send email)maykoski.com Puckett, Allen (I3603)

"Cyrus Dunning was born in Connecticut in 1779 and in 1819 was married to Sally Wheeler, a sister of Johnson and Jesse Wheeler. They came to Clarksfield in 1833 and settled on a farm north of Rowland's corners, next to the Wakeman line. After a few years the youngest daughter, Sarah, died of consumption followed, in a few months by the mother who died in 1841 and sister, Mary, who died March 3 1842. This left Mr. Dunning with two sons, Oliver, 18, and Cyrus, 9 years of age. After a few years Oliver married Lucretia Wheeler and they kept house for Mr. Dunning until about 1845, when he married a widow Smith , of Wayne County, Ohio, who had several children, among whom were Orville P. and Lemuel, the latter of whom married Mary Rogers and died in Clarksfield. After some years Mr. and Mrs. Dunning became too old to take care of themselves and she went to live with some of her children in Norwalk, while he lived with his children. In 1854 the old lady died and Mr. Dunning went to Nebraska, with his sons. Cyrus Jr. had married Lucy Wheeler. The father and sons died in Nebraska."

Since writing the above Jacob Mains has died at Lowell, July 19, 1899, of Brights Disease. He was burried in Sumner Cemetery, near Puyallup. His age was 82 years, 4 months, and 17 days. 3348 Nancy Strawn, daughter of Hiram and Catherine Strawn. Nancy was considered the angel of the family of 17 children. She not only cared for her father but had two of her brothers, Hiram and Mahlon, until they died. Elijah, Her first husband, died
while in the Civil War. They first lived in Winnebago County, Illinois then moved to Northeastern Iowa. But they left Iowa and removed to Missouri to get away from cold winters. They resided 6 1/2 miles southeast of Niangua, Missouri. Nancy
Strawn (Grandmother Watson as her family knew her) as we knew her lost 4 of her 6 children by typhoid fever. Her grandson, Bert Franklin, who was living in Springfield, Missouri in 1956, says, "We have a small table made by James Strawn for his
mother, Catherine Winemute, dated 1840; also a kitchen table they had when they lived in Canada and a bedspread made by Nancy Strawn Franklin from wool she raised. It is blue and white. She did the spinning and weaving, gathered rye straw and
made hates for her family and did all the cooking. We have a pair of mittens she knit, black with a red star on the back. She also traveled many miles on horseback to wait on the sick. No wonder she was called the 'Angel of the Family'."
