- Roy Hamilton fought in WWI and bought back a French wife. They had one daughter who (according to Mom, Ina wolfe) handed down her very pretty clothes to the Wolfe girls. Mom remembers that the French wife seemed so very cultured to her.
- Uncle John thought that it was his cousin Harvey Hamilton with the French wife, but thinks the daughter might have been a step-daughter. About the divorce, John says "she took the bleak Kansas plains as long as she could.
