Notes |
- Lena never married. Her family was well off, her father was a judge among other things. Her broter George had two daughters who both died young. After the 1930s stock market crash their wealth disappeared and Lena ended up selling some of their furniture. Alice Mae Thomas WOlfe purchased the brass bed that I currently own (Rebecca Lewis). Lena and Alice refered to themselves as cousins, but her children didn't reaize that the really WERE step cousins. Lena's grandfather, Leverett Hill was the brother of Alice's great grandfather, Asa Wheeler's second wife, Sophia Hill. I have photos of Sophia and Asa as very old people.
