Notes |
- Daniel Walker Thomas removed from Chester Co., Pennsylvania to Winchester, Viriginia sometime between 1790 and 1799 becoming a member of Hopewell Meeting of Friends. He was a lawyer and was appointed Commissioner of Revenue for the town of
Winchester in 1810, giving bond to Governor John Tyler, who afterwards became President. His descendants became a quite extensive Southern family, living in Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky etc.,and evidently did not long continue their conection
with Friends. As far as known, they were the only branch of this family which went South. Others who did not remain in Pennsylvania went to Ohio, Indianna and some to Iowa.
