John was the son of Joseph READ (b c1733 d 18 April 1792 Knowlton Twp (Sussex, now Warren) NJ and Sarah SUTTON (b 20 Feb 1742/43 d 31 Aug 1792 Knowlton Twp, NJ) the daughter of James SUTTON and Hannah Louise FREEMAN. I would be more than
happy to share any information I have on the family. I would also appreciate knowing if anyone runs across dear ol' Joseph, as we have been unable to find anything of his origins!
