      THE HILLPOT/HILLEBARD/HILBART/HELLEBART FAMILY

      THE IMMIGRANT AND HIS CHILDREN

      0. GEORGE ADAM HILLEBARD/HELLEBART The exact date of birth is not known at this time, further research will be needed in Germany. Immigrant, born ca. 1700 in Germany [a Palatine]. The following is from the Spruance Library in Doylestown
Pa. I was looking for any Hillpot located in Germany and had no success. The following are some variants of the name, but all turned up inconclusive. I.G.I. Germany frame 198,352 Adam Hilbert christened 2, June 1705 son of Johan Hilbert and
Adam Bockholt Prussia Westfalen Emsdellen Sankt Pancratuis Katholisch Anna Maria Hilbers christened 1690 parents Hilbers Brockholt. No George Adam right era numerous Hilberts further research needed here.

Jorg (George) Adam: Sometimes only shown as Adam was most likely to have been married prior to America since Anna Barbara his eldest daughter married in 1745 and thus must have been at least 15 years making her birth prior to ship
arriving in Pa. with her parents. The above information is not proven at this time further research will be done in Germany. The following information was taken directly from the book of Early Pennsylvania German Pioneers. Alexander and Anne
      1730.

"At the Courthouse of Philadelphia September 5, 1730,... A list was presented of the Names of Forty six Palatines, who with their families making in all about one hundred and thirty persons, were imported here in the ship Alexander and
Ann, William Clymer, Master, from Rotterdam , but last from Deal." From the Minutes of the Provincial Council, printed in the Colonial Records, Volume III, Page 386.

ADAM (O) HILLPOT. Was among the list of names presented at that time also shown is not his signature which has been retraced since the logs were in very poor condition. The O indicates his mark His name located third from the top
sometimes indicates leadership. The first findings of Jorg is at the New Hanover Lutheran Church in Montgomery County which, at that time was a part of Philadelphia. In 1743 the records indicate Magdalena an Barbara Kurts, Adam Hillebart's
step daughters are confirmed. In 1746 Johannes Kurts, Adam Hillebart's step son is confirmed. The mother of these children was Anna Maria Kurtz a widow, suspect the widow of Peter Kortz. I have no birth date at this time for Anna Maria
Kortz but it is been forwarded to me that she was buried February 25, 1785 at Falkner Swamp Lutheran Church in New Hanover. His administration was 1738 File #116 D:53. The next part of the time line is George Adam's son is baptized
November 18, 1744. On November 12, 1751 Philadelphia Deed book H11 Page 223 Adam purchased 259 acres and 72 perches of land for 87 pounds 17 shillings this was a piece of 6000 acres sold at a sheriffs sale. The land was granted to Adam
Hillebart in full title, witnesses Walt Goodman and John Reilu Recorded December 4, 1759. 1769 George Adam Hillpot of Frankfort and New Hanover Twp. 200 acres 4 horses and 5 cattle Tax 15-10-8 [ listed between Moses Bender and Henry Derringer]
1774 tax for New Hanover and Frankfort {not listed} Michael Hilbert is shown with 150 acres 2 horses and 2 cattle. Montgomery Orphans Court # 7768 and registers file #11,536. The inventory of December 23, 1784 made by Bernit Doodero and Dave
Burkert. January 24, 1785 in the amount of 100 pounds signed by Henry Fryer. April 30, 1787 the settlement by Henry Fryer, administrator of George Adam Hilbart. Debts include cost of new fence, shingles for the house and funeral expenses for
deceased wife. The important notes here are that the Widow died between December 23, 1784 and April 30, 1787. Also 2 children of the second marriage Catherine Fryer and Michael Hilbart lived on the homestead in 1786 and 1787.

June 25, 1787 Writ of Partition a division of the land can be made without spoiling either and two parts of nine (crossed out and 8 written in) to be divided among the children of George Adam Hilbert. September 2, 1787 Inquest on
messuage (house) and 150 acres in New Hanover Township, Montgomery County (of George Adam Hilbart) valued at 350 pounds. April 7, 1788

Orphans Court Bonds to Michael Hilbart and his Surties, each for 38-7-9 payable March 24, 1789. Given to the 7 siblings/families of Michael Hilbart (with children of George Adam Hilbart getting 2 times.) Note: where are the bonds ??
Should give the locations of residence. June 16, 1930 The recorder of Deeds could not find any mention of the bonds since April 6, 1788. August 1, 1930 Preliminary Decree citations to be issued to all heirs... and then to show why the land
mentioned could be released from bonds... Deed 11224:460 May 1, 1831 and continues on from there. I have not found a birth or death record for Jorge Adam or a marriage record or baptisms for the younger children nor a church death record or
tombstone. Looking for any additional information. The following is a list as I believe of the children of George Adam and his two wives. Note the eldest children moved up to Tinicum Twp. And away from the second wife this may make some
sense, as frequently the step-mother does not suit the children of the first marriage
