Dunning died in 1890. Mrs Dunning lived with a daughter in Oklahoma until last May, when a grandson returned from the Philippines. She was keeping house for him at Blackwell, O.T., when she died Sept. 29, 1901. | WHEELER, Lucretia (I344)

Luetta Schaftstall (hard to read Lillie's writing) is the 3rd and last child of Sarah Martha Carson and John Harter. The last 6 mos. or so of Grandfather Carson's life was spent in their home, 1887. He died of cancer of the liver in Nov. of
that year. In the spring of that year he sold his farm and (unknown looks like "chattels") and went to live with the Harters. This was 1 mile over the Seneca-Crawford Co Line in Crawford County about 2 mi from the Jack Carson farm. From then
on Grandmother Mary Ann visited round with her children. She happened to be at the home of Leonard and Hannah Ann Carson in Sept 1889 when she died. In Huron Co. along the Crawford Co line and 1 mile E. of Seneca Co. About 1 mile from your
mother's (that would be Eliza Agnes Carson) birthplace. | Moore, Mary Ann (I15259)

Mabel Rawlinson was one of a small number of women who died as pilots serving in the Army Air Corp in WWII. Mabel died alone, flying then crashing, at night, testing inferior planes for the government. Since women were not recognized as heros
in WWII, nor were they recognized as actual veterans, Mabel's heroic death sserving her country was not recognized by the US until 1972, at wich time her mother was formally provided with the du she deserved having lost a child to war. Since
1972, of course, women have been recognized correctly within the armed forces. | Rawlinson, Mabel (I15634)

Mahon Strawn, son of Hiram and Catherine Strawn married Polly but was divorced from her. They had one child who was born and died in infancy. He did not marry again. He went to live with his sister, Nancy in Niangua, Missouri. Supposedly Mahlon
and his younger brother were burned to death in a log cabin fire in 1900 but currently we are showing his brothers death date as 1906 which would make this impossible. The Winnebago County, Illinois History of 1877 lists Mahlon as a laborer. He
was a cooper by trade. Bert Limar Franklin, grandson of Nancy Strawn Franklin Watson says, the following came from Iowa to Niangua, Missouri, to get away from the cold winters in Iowa. They were Mr & Mrs Frank Watson (Nancy Strawn), Mr & Mrs
George Watson, Mr and Mrs Elijah Franklin and daughter, Hiram and Mahlon Strawn and William Wilson. | Strawn, Mahlon (I14907)
