    2169 Daniel Walker Thomas removed from Chester Co., Pennsylvania to Winchester, Viriginia sometime between 1790 and 1799 becoming a member of Hopewell Meeting of Friends. He was a lawyer and was appointed Commissioner of Revenue for the town of
    Winchester in 1810, giving bond to Governor John Tyler, who afterwards became President. His descendants became a quite extensive Southern family, living in Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky etc.,and evidently did not long continue their conection
    with Friends. As far as known, they were the only branch of this family which went South. Others who did not remain in Pennsylvania went to Ohio, Indianna and some to Iowa.

    Abraham Van Auken (Aken) and Jannetjen De Witt (the Van Auken brothers married De Witt sisters.)

    2171 Daniel Young married Elizabeth Windecker daughter of Henry Windecker who settled on the Grand River below Cayuga near the site of the old Windecker Church. A ferry was established there as well as a tavern. Daniel eventually left his Grand
    River lands and removed to Barton Township where he lived on the Crown Grant of his wife Elizabeth, owning other lands near Ryckman's Corners as well. He apparently died there sometime after 1834 the date of his will in which he mentioned some
    but not all of his children.
