He was son of Derick Sutphen 18 Mar 1716 Monmouth Co., NJ - 12 Apr 1777 Peapack, Bedminster, Somerset, NJ & Neeltje Schenck [d/o Roelof Schenck & Engeltje van Doorn]. Derick Sutphen and Gertrude's father Guisbert 1720-1796 were brothers, both sons of Giusbert Sutphen 1693-1763 & Gertruyd Van Pelt 1693-1748.

      The Van Pelt Manor House was built in the town of New Utrecht around the 1670s, in the Original King's Highway Section, Brooklyn, New York. The house was used by American soldiers, including George Washington, during the Revolutionary War. The house was sold to the city and made a historic landmark in the first half of the twentieth century. It was torn down following a fire in 1952.

      Another page gives their marriage date as Sept 10, 1686 and their son Jan born on Dec 25, 1696.

      At the time of their marriage he lived in New Lotts. He was a member of the Reformed Dutch Church at Flatbush in 1677 and it was there that he took the oath of allegiance in 1787. In 6191 he, along with others, purchased what was then
      known as the Harland tract in Somerset County, New Jersey.

      Heindricke married Adrient BLOODGOOD on 26 Apr 1684 in (old) Dutch Reformed Church, New York. Adrient (daughter of Frans Janse BLOODGOOD and Lysbet (Lysbeth, Elizabeth) JANS) was born about 1660. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
