Uncle John Wolfe remembers, " The nighe that brother Charlie died three times. His heart would speed up to a tremendous rate the heart and breathing stop. He had measles and whooping cough at the same time. He was one year old. Dad would just
not let him go. He put him in hot water, pummeled and spanked him and the heart would start again. The doctor would not come to see him, saying Dad was doing everything possible. He would not let Mother in the room. I kept the water hot. After
the third ressurection he told me to go to bed, that the crisis was past.

Asa married Alice Mae THOMAS on 30 Aug 1917 in Rev. Charles Gearheart, Congregational parsonage. Alice (daughter of Robert Hanson THOMAS and Kate DUNNING) was born on 6 Dec 1890 in Indianola, NE; died on 9 May 1975 in Billings, MT. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Silas married Sarah Catherine PUCKETT on 28 Jan 1886. Sarah (daughter of Allen N. PUCKETT and Rebecca COURTNEY) was born on 27 Jul 1864; died on 04 Mar 1890; was buried in 1890 in Indianola Cemetery, Indianola, Red Willow, Nebraska. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

There is a grave marker in the Indianola Cemetery that says "Silas C WOlfe 1852 - 1905 Sarah C. His Wife 1864 - 1890

It looks like polished granite wih a flower engraved on the left. There is an emblem of some sort above the names, but I can't see what is is from the photo.

Peter M. Wolfe, born 1821, died D(ec 5 ) 1881. Early in life he gave his heart to God and united with the M.P. Church at Evansville W. Va. Removing shortly after he attached himself to the M.E. Church of which for almost half a century he has
been a worthy and consistant member. He had been in declining health for almost a year before his death, and during the last few weeks of his life his mind was greatly affected. But in his rational moments he expressed himself as (
unreadable)hold by the strong arm of the Savior ( )when death came it found him ready, ( )ned and in his right mind. He was the first of a family of thirteen to break away from the Unitarian faith in which they had been taught. The
others followed his example, and to this day they all, with one exception, are strong men and women in Christ and financially in the church. He leaves a wife and eight childrento mourn their loss; but they, too, thanks to a pious example are on
their way. W. () W.







Information from IIcia Wolfe's files gives his death as 11/24/1884 in West Virginia.

Peter married Elizabeth FORD on 15 Feb 1867. Elizabeth was born on 18 Mar 1828; died on 17 Jul 1865. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

His name is listed as Alleniah A. Puckett on his son Jon's death certificate. Grandpa Asa Wolfe wrote it down as Allenias on the family photo. I have also seen people writing it as Allen N or Allen Nias.

On his homestead application in 1893, he wrote that he was 60 years old and wrote his name as Allen N Puckett.

According to Ina Wolfe, Allen Puckett was ostracized by his family after he chose to not become a priest.

According to Uncle John Wolfe,"I remember Dad (Asa Wolfe) telling about his granddad Puckett being a healer. He said he saw a man being carried into the Puckett parlor on a stretcher, and he walked out carrying the stretcher. He told
severalother stories in the same frame but not so vivid. There were secret words to transfer the healing power, to the eldest son of the eldest son. Every other generation skipped. Dad was not eligible --not a Puckett.

Do you (Ina Wolfe) remember stories of Dad relating to healing? H seemed reluctant to talk about such because we Moderns did not accept it. We rejected the wisdom of the ancients."

In the 1860 census, Allen is living with his 52 year old mother. It looks like an older married brother is living next door and a Courtney family living two doors down in the next page of the census.

On his homesteading application in 1893 he wrote his name as Allen N Puckett.

Allen married Rebecca COURTNEY on 13 Dec 1863 in Marshall, Highland Co., Ohio. Rebecca was born on 28 Feb 1838 in Marshall, Highland County, Ohio; died on Nov 11, 1905; was buried in Indianola Cemetery. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Allenias or Allen Niah (Allen N.) Puckett of Bell, Ohio married Rebecca Courtney of Marshal, Ohio. The alleged family feud mad it difficult to trace his family.

Philip married Christina MILLER about 1817. Christina (daughter of John P. MILLER) was born in 1797; died on 9 Nov 1844; was buried in Mt. Israel Cemetery, Preston County, West Virginia. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
