Lewis married Hannah S. Mendenhall on 10 Oct 1837. Hannah (daughter of Jacob Mendenhall and Beulah THOMAS) was born on 3 May 1818 in Waterford, London County, Virginia. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Jacob married Beulah THOMAS on 17 Oct 1811. Beulah (daughter of Isaac THOMAS and Hannah Jackson) was born on 13 Sep 1784; died on 22 Nov 1859. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Information concerning the family of Isaac and Hannah Jackson Thomas was obtained from the Sesiqui-Centennial gathering of the descendants of Isaac and Ann Jackson at Harmony Grove, Chester County, Pennsylvania 8-25-1875 together with the
family genealogy published by the committee for the family in 1878.



Page 127 refers to (his son-in-law) Jacob Mendenhall completing his studies in Enoch Lewis boarding school and while there was alternately scholar and tutor in the mathematical department. After his marriage and removal to Waterford, Virginia
he established a school and it is said he was one of the most studious hardworking teachers of that day. His close application in promoting the interests of his school in connection with a number of trustworthy offices of the then incorporated
village, caused his health to give way under a rapid decline until his death.

Isaac married Hannah Jackson on 7 Nov 1781. Hannah was born on 15 May 1757 in Ireland; died on 25 Sep 1813. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
