Richard YOUNGER

Notes:

According to Dona Wilson Johnson, Sally, Richard's stepmother who raised him, left him the family farm when she died in 1900. In 1904, he sold the farm and moved the family to Nebraska. Stella remembered that when Richard moved the family ,he sold all of her grandmother's beautiful Haviland China among other things. Stella always refered to the farm as her grandmother's plantation. She said they had slaves who stayed with them even after they were freed in 1865.

Richard married Massa BROOKS on 24 Dec 1867. Massa died on 12 May 1869. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Richard married Nancy Ann STRAUGHAN on 16 Feb 1871. Nancy (daughter of Moses STRAUGHAN and Catharine Elizabeth WISEHART) was born on 2 Aug 1852 in Jefferson Co., KY; died on 10 Sep 1937 in Martinez, CA; was buried in Stamford Cemetery plot 258; Stamford, NE. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

2. Kitty Ann (Kate) YOUNGER was born on 16 Oct 1873.
3. Sarah Lillian (Lillie) YOUNGER was born on 2 Feb 1876; died on 13 Apr 1951; was buried in Stamford, NE.
4. Jamima May (May) YOUNGER was born on 6 Aug 1878.
5. Nancy Lee (Lee) YOUNGER was born on 24 Aug 1879.
6. John Coleman YOUNGER was born on 23 Sep 1881; died in 1915; was buried in Stamford, NE.
7. Stella Cleveland YOUNGER was born on 12 Sep 1883; died on 19 Nov 1974 in Ft. Collings, Colorado; was buried in Highland Cemetery,Wellington, CO; grave 7,lot 10, block 23,.
8. Stanford Straughn YOUNGER was born on 24 Apr 1886; died on 22 Dec 1961 in Vallejo, CA.
9. Ora YOUNGER was born on 7 May 1889; died on 30 May 1947 in Lovelock, NV; was buried in Berkeley, CA.
10. Richard Ewel (Dick) YOUNGER was born on 27 Apr 1892; died in Oct 1952 in Los Angeles, CA.
11. Harry Clive YOUNGER was born on 7 Sep 1894 in Nelson county, KY; died on 3 Oct 1981 in Pasadena Mausoleum, Pasadena, CA.

Henry married Mary DEATS on 11 May 1837 in Bullitt Co., KY. Mary (daughter of John DEATS and Anna SHAIN) was born in 1815; died in 1850. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

September 1823 Bullitt County Will Book A p. 509 We the Commissioners
appointed by the September County Court for the County of Bullitt after being
first sworn proscaded to Settle with Ann DEATS administratrix of John DEATS
dec’d and report the following Settlement to Court and allow the widow the
following accounts:

For 3 days travelling expenses $10.00
Debts discharged as appeared by vouchers $64.91 1/4
for clothing and feeding Mahaly until she was able to provide for herself
$15.00
for clothing and feeding Mary until her labour was worth the same $15.00
for clothing and feeding Nancy, 2 years $35.00
